Pink Princess' new hat and mittens

My Aunt "Snowbird" made this hat for the Pink Princess. I have been wanting to make Pink some mittens, so I decided to make them to match the hat! I REALLY like this mitten pattern, very quick and easy!! I'm thinking that my friend K and I need hats like this too. K's will be chocolate and light pink, but I need ideas for colors for mine. Any thoughts? Post them here please! :)

Happy birthday to Daddy's girl

Well, yesterday was the Pink Princess' 8th birthday. She got a call from her Daddy and was SO excited about it! It's kinda hard celebrating life without my Beloved, and I can't even imagine how hard it must be for him to not be here for these special occasions. Little D's birthday is only 9 days away....wouldn't it be an awesome gift to have Daddy here.....but we have no idea when he'll be home. So we do the best we can. Tomorrow I am taking the Pink Princess out for a girly day (my friend K is going with us). Hair cuts, shopping, lunch, and.....getting her ears pierced! :) And that was her Daddy's idea! She really is a Princess!

Brrrrrrrr!!

Fall has definitely fallen upon us!! Check it out! In Alaska we called this "termination dust" as it signaled the end of summer. This was taken from my front porch!!

Little Boys

Well, since I caught the Pink Princess being a lady, I figured I should give due time to little boys being the man. So here is Little D filling in for his Daddy on the yard work! I think it is so neat that our children want to emulate us. BIG responsibility though! Little eyes always watching. Reminds me of my need to pray for wisdom and grace in this "business" of child raising!

Little Girls

My little girl found my wedding dress and has been having the time of her life dancing around in it! Fa-la-la!! We talked about weddings and she was so excited when I told her that she would get a special dance just her and her Daddy. I am so thankful that she is happy with who God made her to be!!

Mr. Cool in his Shemagh

A Shem-what??

So today my DH picked up some MORE equipment, including a Shemagh (say "shmog"). It is BEAUTIFUL!! I want one. I told him he has to bring it back to me. SmileAnyway, this is a very important item for a desert soldier and so, this evening I had to 1.)figure out how to spell it, so I could 2.) look it up online to 3.)figure out how to use the silly thing! You want to know? Click on Shemagh Kinda interesting really, and who knows, you may find a good use for it around your home!

Hubby's "Sand Toys"

And that's not even all of it!! He's packing it all up right now, so I had to hurry and get a picture. My heart did a little flip as he said he was packing, but "My God is so great, so strong and so mighty, there's nothing my God cannot do!!"
